World Music Conference 2019
The World Music conference is the only event of its kind in the UK aimed at bringing together artistes, academics, music educators from across the Europe, USA and India.
The over- arching aim of the World Music Conference 2019 aims to bring together academics (teaching and research), artistes and professionals and individuals from varied backgrounds to engage and appreciate music from across the world. Embrace diversity in the Midlands through Music.
The conference offers several networking events to connect with accomplished professionals and learn from educational workshops offered by prominent names in the industry.
The conference is supported by the Consulate General of India in Birmingham. The West Midlands Combined Authority, The NHS and a host of premier Partners.
Why should you attend the Conference ?
This multidisciplinary conference brings young people, leading researchers mental health practitioners, communities and music professionals together from all backgrounds and encourages creative conversations utilising approaches that are rooted in the community, for all those who are keen to share the importance and benefits of music through their work and expertise within their community and to contribute to wellbeing outcomes to a wider audience.
In addition, the conference will focus on practical ‘’hands -on’’ musical experiences for children and young people. Participants will be encouraged to learn and gain insights about the importance of music for mental health and wellbeing, how it extends across the Arts and Humanities into the Sciences and how it enables us all to establish a strong sense of personal identity.
